The Bosch Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) System allows people to collect data stored in event data recorders (EDR). EDRs were first introduced into vehicles in the mid 1990's. Today, they are found in many of the vehicles sold in the United States as well as in other parts of the world. In the United States, 19 automobile manufacturers have contracted with Bosch to create a system to access and retrieve the data contained in EDRs.
